Odilo Juanito is currently completing a Bachelor of Civil Engineering at Western Sydney University, with graduation expected in February 2027.

He joined LOKA Consulting Engineers to gain practical industry experience and understand how engineering principles, design calculations and Australian Standards are applied in real-world projects.

During his internship, Odilo gained experience in several areas of civil engineering, including stormwater drainage plans for roof, ground and basement drainage, On-Site Detention (OSD), internal traffic reports, parking and site access assessments, Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS), and Construction Traffic Management Plans (CTMP). He also developed skills in reading architectural plans, preparing technical documentation, communicating with external agencies, and assisting with office operations.

Through practical training, guidance from senior staff and exposure to different engineering tasks, Odilo strengthened his technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities and professional communication skills. With encouragement from our team, he also became more confident in working independently, handling unexpected challenges and finding practical solutions. He particularly enjoyed working on traffic reports and stormwater drainage plans, where he could apply the knowledge gained at university.

The internship provided Odilo with valuable technical and professional experience, preparing him for the transition from university to the engineering industry.

LOKA Consulting Engineers is committed to supporting the next generation of engineers by providing opportunities to develop practical skills, industry knowledge and professional confidence.

We thank Odilo for his contribution to the team and wish him every success in completing his degree and progressing towards a successful career as a civil engineer.
